Sync to MailChimp

Noboa allows you to connect your survey data directly to Mailchimp so that you can keep the conversation going with your respondents.

To connect a mailing list to Noboa you will need to add your MailChimp API token to your account. Contact your Noboa support to set up your account.

Connecting Noboa to MailChimp

With any workspace of survey where you collect respondent email, Noboa allows you to send that information directly to your Mailchimp audience.

STEP 1 - Find your audience’s unique ID in MailChimp.

To find your unique ID, log into MailChimp and go to your audience settings (this can be found in the dropdown in the upper right of the “Audience Dashboard” page.)

Now that you are in the settings, scroll to the very bottom and there will be a text box under the label “unique id for the audience mailing list”.

Copy that unique 10-digit code.

STEP 2 - Turn on your Mail List Sync in the question detail settings.

To find your Mail List page, log into Noboa, and using the dotted menu in the right of the workspace you are wanting to sync, select “Question Detail”.

There are 4 buttons on the top of that page, select the one that says “Mail List”

Toggle on “Sync to Mailchimp”.

In the “Audience” text box, paste in your MailChimp Unique ID.

In the “Email Question #” text box, add the question number of the question where you ask for your respondent’s email.

In the “Name Question #” text box, add the question number of the question where you ask for your respondent’s name. (this is optional)

Press Save.

Once you have turned on your sync, you will see the Mailchimp logo on your workspace when you are viewing on your workspace dashboard.

Syncing Noboa to MailChimp

Once you have toggled on “Sync to Mailchimp”, the emails in your survey will automatically sync with MailChimp every 10 minutes. (in the Mail List page, you can see the last time your survey was synced)

If you need to sync your survey on demand, simply click the “Sync” button on the Mail List page.

Once your survey has been synced, MailChimp will send back any errors (mainly if someone misspelled their email). This error will live below the sync timestamp. This error will not prevent all other emails to sync, it will simply skip over the incorrect email and move on to the next.

Syncing Survey Cuts to MailChimp

There will be times when you’ll want to filter down your survey respondents and just email a select cut. Once you have toggled on “Sync to Mailchimp” every time you create a cut in your workspace, that cut will be synced to MailChimp and can be discovered as a “Tag” in MailChimp.

When you go to send an email to that cut and are selecting the audience, use the “Segment or Tag” dropdown to select “Group or new segment”, then change the logic to “Tag” and select the cut you want to email.
